The Newseum has a wonderful exhibit on the media’s role during the Civil Rights Movement. It’s been said that “journalism is the first draft of history”. Here’s a big thank you to all those journalists who put themselves in harms’ way in order to capture that history for us!
As we count down to the 50th Anniversary of The March, we can look back through the lens of history to that day 50 years ago – and what’s transpired since.
And as we look at August 2013, it’ll be interesting to see how this year’s event is covered now, and how it’s viewed through the context of time.
